I believe rabbits do best with fresh air, fresh greens, and room to move about and see the world.
I designed the Runabout Rabbit Run as a rabbit “tractor” with a run area for your rabbit to get fresh air, exercise, and fresh grass, and a hutch area to retreat to and feel safe and secure. My rabbits usually get moved twice daily by just picking up the end of the run with the pull rope and sliding it about ten feet to new pasture.
For regions with heavy snow, the Runabout Rabbit Run can be easily modified to be mounted two or three feet high as a more traditional stationary hutch and then easily dismounted in the early spring.
So far, I haven’t tried collecting the manure, but believe it is possible. My adult rabbits always make their deposit in the corner of the run farthest from the door of the hutch. My feeling is that by sliding a litter box or tray under that part of the run, I would be able to collect nearly all of the manure from adult rabbits.
